Tasks and responsibilities
The Medical Law & Data Protection Officer ensures compliance with all data protection and medical law requirements in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations, and directives of the Republic of Austria and the European Union. They advise the management and specialist departments on legal and data protection matters, oversee the development and implementation of legally compliant processes, and support their practical application — for example regarding documentation, informed consent, and patient rights. In addition, they raise awareness, provide staff training, and act as a point of contact for individuals exercising their rights under data protection law.
Given the multitude and complexity of internal processes, the Department of Medical Law & Data Protection supports all areas in continuously ensuring that workflows remain legally compliant and in line with data protection standards.
