Neurology

We run the Neurology Department as a purely inpatient consultant service. This department plays a central role in holistic medical care, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) as well as the peripheral nervous system.

Both physical and psychological aspects are taken into account. Our aim is to provide patients with the best possible neurological care through sound medical expertise and individualised care.

Patients with neurological conditions are often treated in different departments such as internal medicine, trauma surgery, ENT, surgery or gynaecology. Our neurological consultation service offers valuable support.

This service includes:

• Professional advice: Doctors responsible for the ward can present patients with neurological symptoms to the consultation service.
• Diagnostics and therapy recommendations: A neurologist visits the patient, makes a professional diagnosis and makes recommendations for further treatment.
• Continuous support: After discharge from hospital, further neurological follow-up care in special surgeries is often advisable in order to ensure seamless care.
  

• Diseases of the central nervous system: These include strokes, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
• Peripheral nerve diseases: These include neuropathies and muscle diseases.
• Geriatric diseases: with regard to neurological challenges in old age, especially in the context of geriatrics.
• Pain treatment: specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain syndromes.
