The foundation stone for the first nursing school in western Austria outside of Innsbruck was laid in Zams back in 1945. Since 2013, the St. Vinzenz Training Centre for Health Professions (BiZ) has been located in a modern building in the immediate vicinity of the hospital.

Training offer

Careers in the field of healthcare and nursing are of crucial social relevance and offer excellent prospects for the future. The BiZ lays the foundation for highly qualified specialists and offers a comprehensive range of specialisations in nursing:

  • Nursing assistance
  • Nursing assistant
  • Upgrade to nursing assistant
  • FH Bachelor's degree programme in Healthcare and Nursing at the FH Tirol

Cooperations and partnerships

Since 2013, there has been a successful cooperation with FSBHM Landeck-Perjen vocational school (focus on care). Since September 2023, there has also been a partnership with the Katharina Lins Schools (secondary school for nursing and social care).

​​The practical learning environment teaches all the necessary technical basics, social skills and values. This ensures that trainees are optimally prepared for their day-to-day work.

Professional development

As a responsible employer, St. Vinzenz Hospital attaches great importance to the professional development of its approximately 1,000 employees. Further training for medical and nursing staff is regularly offered in the BiZ's modern simulation centre. In addition, lectures are organised that are also open to external interested parties, as well as seminars for family caregivers.

This comprehensive training and further education programme makes a significant contribution to quality assurance and promotion in the healthcare professions in the region.
