Ear, Nose and Throat Department

Our Ear, Nose and Throat Department offers first-class basic care with two highly qualified consultants. Inpatient treatments and operations are carried out directly in the hospital.

Please note: Outpatient treatments and appointments are not possible in our ENT department. Outpatient follow-up care takes place in the respective surgeries of the consultant physicians. For appointments, please contact the respective practices directly.

Important information

On 30 August 2024, our specialist department for Ear, Nose and Throat medicine (ENT) was converted to a 5-day clinic due to the retirement and closure of Dr. Johann Günter Öfner's surgery.

Our ENT Department is open from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Please note that no ENT care is available at Zams Hospital outside these times. In case of acute conditions or pain outside regular opening hours, please visit the University Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine in Innsbruck.

Services

Ailments of the ears, nose and oral cavity as well as the throat and larynx are treated. The upper trachea and oesophagus, the salivary glands and the neck (excluding the thyroid and parathyroid glands) are also part of the specialty.

At St. Vinzenz Hospital, we offer a wide range of standard ENT operations, such as:

  • Removal of tonsils and adenoids
  • Eardrum incisions and tympanostomy tube insertions in children
  • Operations on the nasal septum and the bony nasal framework
  • Medically necessary corrections to the external shape of the nose
  • Modern endonasal endoscopic paranasal sinus surgery
  • Soft tissue surgery of the neck
  • Endoscopic procedures on the pharynx and larynx
