Twenty percent of all people in Austria suffer domestic violence in the form of physical, psychological and/or sexual assaults. Healthcare facilities are often the first and only point of contact for those affected.

At Zams Hospital, we attach particular importance to protecting and supporting victims of violence. We recognise physical, psychological or sexual violence at an early stage and offer professional help. Our inter-professional and interdisciplinary team of violence protection experts is on hand to advise those affected. We are also responsible for dealing with the effects of knockout drugs.

We take the experience of violence seriously. Confidentiality is our top priority. With the agreement of those affected, initial measures and necessary steps can be initiated, such as contacting appropriate support facilities or authorities. Victims of domestic violence can turn to us in confidence at any time.
