The logistics, warehousing and purchasing team is responsible for monitoring seasonal fluctuations in consumption, checking outage reserves and topping them up if necessary. It also ensures that the hospital is always optimally equipped for emergencies and disasters and that longer delivery times for the required products can be reliably bridged. Due to the rapid progress in medicine, new requirements in product procurement must constantly be met through forward-looking planning and the ability to react quickly.

Tasks and responsibilities

The purchasing department at St. Vinzenz Hospital comprises three main areas:

  • OP article warehouse

  • Central material warehouse

  • Procurement of capital goods

The department works closely with an interdisciplinary working group to ensure that the best decisions are always made when purchasing and evaluating new items. This ensures that all medical and operational requirements are optimally met.
