In the outpatient clinic for Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine at St. Vinzenz Hospital, we treat patients with endocrine system disorders, including endocrine glands. These include the thyroid gland, the parathyroid gland, the adrenal glands, the pituitary gland (hypophysis) and the pancreas. Some diseases of the endocrine system occur very rarely, but some affect many people.

Diabetes mellitus, with its far-reaching secondary diseases, is one of the most widespread diseases. In order to meet the special needs of people with diabetes, we offer a specialized diabetes outpatient clinic, which is particularly dedicated to the prevention of late complications. Our focus is on the comprehensive treatment and care of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as pregnancy diabetes.

Metabolic self-monitoring including long-term sensor measurements of blood glucose behavior
Advice on and management of insulin therapy
Advice on and management of hypercholesterolemia including prescription of the latest therapies
Management of obesity and preparation for bariatric surgery as part of an interdisciplinary network
Interdisciplinary network foot outpatient clinic, which treats diabetic foot syndrome in collaboration with six specialist disciplines
Clarification of thyroid disorders including fine needle aspiration
Clarification of high blood pressure
Clarification and treatment of osteoporosis

Our outpatient clinic is also involved in diabetes studies and uses our in-house study center.
