Endoscopy: modern examination procedures
- Gastroscopy: To clarify upper abdominal pain, heartburn and digestive problems, the esophagus, stomach and duodenum are inspected and, if necessary, mucous membrane samples are taken.
- Colonoscopy: A regular preventive colonoscopy significantly reduces the risk of colon cancer. The colon is examined for polyps, which can be removed in the same session. Special issues are also diagnosed precisely.
- EUS (endosonographic ultrasound examination): This examination provides detailed insights into the pancreas, the common bile duct and other organs. Interventions such as punctures and cyst drainage are also possible.
- Bronchoscopy (lung diseases): This examination is used to diagnose lung diseases. The trachea and deeper sections of the lungs are examined and, if necessary, tissue and lavage samples are taken.
- ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography): This technique visualizes the bile ducts, the gallbladder and the pancreatic duct and can avoid complex operations in some cases.
- Endoscopic examinations for acute bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract or lungs are also offered.
